The Center for Family and Children Education Services, also known as FACES, houses not only a Pre-K program but other community based programs that coordinate to support children, youth and families.
The Center for the Study of Social Policy in Washington, D.C. announced that FACES is 1 of 100 programs across the nation named to the list of top 20 programs.
"These finalists will be included in the work published by the center and receive national recognition for their efforts in early care and education settings to support and strengthen families to prevent child abuse and neglect," a spokesman for the center said.
Local partners involved with the FACES Center include the Child Care Resource and Referral of Coastal Georgia, the Glynn County Commission on Children and Youth, Success by 6/Family Connection, MELD for Young Dads and Peer Information Network. Others include Girl Scouts, United Community Bank Partners in Education and The Home Depot.
